Job summary

ParaTransit is seeking a Mechanic B/C Tech to support the safe operation of our transit system. The role requires hands-on work on buses, strong diagnostic abilities, and experience with diagnostic computer equipment.

A high school diploma and technical experience are preferred, with on-site responsibilities in a 24/7 environment. The candidate should demonstrate a safety-first mindset, be comfortable working with schematics, and possess good communication skills for documenting solutions and

Qualifications

Evidence of a "safetyfirst" attitude.
One (1) year progressive heavyequipment maintenance preferred.
Two (2) years technical degree orequivalent experience preferred.
Must have computer skills for the ability to repair sub-components of all types of buses.
Must have the ability to understand and follow schematics.

Responsibilities

Inspect/ diagnose / repair / replace brake systems, fuel and emission systems, drivelines, steering and suspension systems, passenger heating/cooling systems, etc. to ensure that they are in proper operating condition.
Hands on experience in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, precision instruments, HVAC recovery equipment, and computer programs like Cummins Insite and Allison DOC.
