Job summary

HDR seeks a Central Region Transit Market Sector Leader in Illinois to partner with regional management and the Global Transit Market Sector Director. You will steer transit and rail market strategies, oversee program leadership, and drive growth through client relationships and staff development.

Responsibilities include coordinating multi-discipline teams, guiding strategic projects, and supporting growth initiatives across the Central Region while aligning with HDR’s employee‑owned culture

Qualifications

Minimum of 10 years in transportation planning/engineering, majority in market sector.
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, planning or related field.
Engineers should maintain registration.
Experience developing and managing strategic marketing programs for planning/engineering services.
Experience managing client relationships and program/pursuit efforts.
Experience with staff development, recruiting and career growth.
Active involvement in industry associations and market sector visibility.
Ability to work with Market Sector Directors, Regional Managers and Area leaders.

Responsibilities

Lead multi-discipline transit/rail market projects and programs.
Drive program growth for transit, intercity and freight rail sectors in the region.
Support capture planning, proposals and client engagement; coordinate with marketing and technical teams.
