Job summary

Transdev is seeking a Maintenance Manager in Phoenix, AZ to oversee mechanics, bus washers, utility workers and admin staff. The role manages a three-shift operation, safety, quality, and compliance with DOT standards.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, scheduling maintenance, controlling costs, and coordinating with parts and operations. Requires 7+ years in heavy-duty maintenance and 3+ years supervisory experience, with CDL B preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Valid CDL Class B (or higher) with passenger and airbrake endorsements preferred.
• 7 years+ experience in the repair and maintenance of all types of heavy-duty automotive and transit equipment.
• 3 years+ of supervisory experience.
• Broad understanding of all mechanical systems related to heavy-duty transportation vehicles.
• Familiarity with laws & regulations associated with the safe operation of maintenance facilities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
• Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

Responsibilities

• Supervising Maintenance Staff: Hire, train, and evaluate technicians, ensuring adherence to safety and performance standards.
• Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement a maintenance schedule and inspections.
• Budget and Resource Management: Track maintenance expenses and forecast material needs.
• Compliance and Safety: Ensure all activities comply with safety regulations and environmental standards.
• Technical Support and Troubleshooting: Provide mechanical expertise and coordinate with vendors for repairs.
• Other duties as required.
