Job summary

Utah Transit Authority (UTA) is seeking an experienced engineering professional to support multiple units with complex transit vehicle maintenance. The role focuses on repair/retrofit programs, quality assurance, and supervising inspections during manufacturing.

You will analyze propulsion, electrical, HVAC, and braking systems, perform problem solving with operators and technicians, and travel for on-site inspections while maintaining rigorous safety standards.

Qualifications

• Four years progressive heavy duty diesel/electrical maintenance experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field applicable to transit vehicle maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Solve complex maintenance issues for rail and related equipment.
• Develop and implement repair/retrofit/overhaul processes and standards.
• Inspect during contractor manufacturing and perform on-site tests and QA checks.
