Job summary
Utah Transit Authority is seeking an experienced engineering professional to support multiple business units by solving complex transit vehicle maintenance and overhaul projects. You will develop repair/retrofit processes, oversee inspections during contractor manufacturing, and train staff across operators, supervisors, and technicians.
Responsibilities include analyzing technical problems, managing cost estimates and budgets for retrofits, and performing acceptance tests on new passenger
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline applicable to transit vehicle maintenance.
- Valid Utah driver’s license and safe driving record (no more than two moving violations in past 3 years).
- No DUI or drug violations in last ten years.
Responsibilities
- Develops repair/retrofit/overhaul processes for transit vehicles.
- Designs and manages QA and PM audits; conducts acceptance tests of new equipment.
- Provides training on maintenance issues to operators, supervisors, managers and technicians.
- Evaluates vendor performance; develops cost estimates, budgets and payback schedules for retrofits.
- Performs or supervises resident inspections during manufacture of passenger vehicles.
