Job summary

The City of Fayetteville's Transit Department is seeking a Maintenance Worker to perform semi-skilled and skilled maintenance, repair, custodial and related activities for transit-related assets. The role involves operating a variety of construction and street maintenance equipment and tools, and ensuring safety during tasks.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and at least six months of field maintenance experience, plus a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience performing field maintenance work within the assigned area of work.
• Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.
• Possession of an appropriate valid driver's license and ability to maintain insurability.
• Preferred: Forklift certification; Biohazard certification; Small Equipment training completion.

Responsibilities

• Clean, maintain, and repair equipment, roads, open spaces, and City facilities.
• Perform street construction, maintenance, and curb/sidewalk projects.
• Perform grounds maintenance, mowing, and debris removal.
• Prepare ball fields and maintain landscapes around work sites.
• Perform janitorial tasks and load/unload trucks.
