Job summary

Metropolitan Council’s Metro Transit division seeks an Electronic Repair Technician to repair and maintain its radio system and bus electronics, including base stations, mobile radios, AVL/GPS, and related equipment.

Requirements include an Associate’s degree in Electronic Technology or equivalent, 2+ years in two-way radio repair, ability to lift 50 pounds, and a valid driver's license. Pay starts at $42.01/hour with increases by year 1 and year 2, plus a $4,000 hiring bonus.

Qualifications

• Two-year associate degree or equivalent in Electronic Technology.
• Two+ years of experience with two-way radio repair.
• Experience with UHF, VHF, 800 trunking, electronic test equipment, analog and digital techniques, Windows/DOS.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain Metro Transit's radio system and bus electronic equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on listed equipment.
• Enter maintenance data and generate Crystal Reports for supervisor review.
• Install and remove radio equipment and related components.
• Maintain equipment for Bus Safety and Data Info Systems.
