Metropolitan Council’s Metro Transit division seeks an Electronic Repair Technician to repair and maintain its radio system and bus electronics, including base stations, mobile radios, AVL/GPS, and related equipment.
Requirements include an Associate’s degree in Electronic Technology or equivalent, 2+ years in two-way radio repair, ability to lift 50 pounds, and a valid driver's license. Pay starts at $42.01/hour with increases by year 1 and year 2, plus a $4,000 hiring bonus.

For candidates newly hired into the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) contract, starting wage is set by the ATU contract. Internal hires will follow Metropolitan Council's union wage guidelines.
This role is eligible to receive a $4,000 Hiring Bonus!
$2,000 after the first 30 days of employment, and
$2,000 after successfully completing a probationary period.
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

This position may require working near moving parts or equipment; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; and in outdoor weather conditions. This position has a risk of electric shock and radiation. The position may also require working in extreme hot (non-weather) conditions and around vibration. This position may require tasting or smelling; and working in extreme cold (non-weather) conditions; and working around loud noise. Position may require reading, writing, reasoning/analysis and social interaction.

If you are new to the Metropolitan Council you must pass a drug test (safety sensitive positions only), and a background check which verifies education, employment, and criminal history. A driving record check and/or physical may be conducted if applicable to the job. If you have a criminal conviction, you do not automatically fail. The Metropolitan Council considers felony, gross misdemeanor and misdemeanor convictions on a case-by-case basis, based on whether they are related to the job and whether the candidate has demonstrated adequate rehabilitation.
