Job summary

The Minnesota Department of Transportation is seeking an Electronic Technician for the Marshall Radio Shop. This full-time, day-shift position works Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, and involves repair, installation, and maintenance of a broad range of electronic equipment with limited supervision.

Minimum qualifications include a two-year electronics certification or equivalent experience, plus strong fault diagnosis, networking basics, and data management knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Two-year minimum certification in electronics OR equivalent work experience with detailed crediting.
  • Knowledge of repair, installation, and maintenance of a wide variety of electronic equipment.
  • Knowledge of fault isolation tools, techniques, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware, software, network operating systems used to diagnose network equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed technical information for installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively written and verbally.
  • Skills in troubleshooting and handling sensitive electronic equipment and parts; mechanical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of data base and data management concepts.
  • Valid (Class D) driver’s license.
