Job summary

HDR is providing Construction Management Support Services Consultant (CMSS) for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LACMTA). The Construction Inspector will support design reviews, construction management, and administration of contracts across rail, bus, highways and transit facilities, including the Vermont Transit Corridor BRT project scheduled for 2028.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of field experience on heavy construction projects, transportation, or transit construction.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field is desirable.
• Valid California Class C driver's license is preferred.
• Able to obtain Cal-OSHA/OSHA 30-hour training certification prior to work.

Responsibilities

• Visits construction sites and inspects each stage of construction up to completion.
• Prepares non-conformance reports when work does not meet approved standards.
• Maintains daily activity logs and inspection reports with project photos.
• Reviews submitted shop drawings for deviations from contract documents.
• Prepares reports on labor, material, and equipment on site.
• Supports monitoring contractor-testing activities and safety compliance.
