Job summary

MBTA’s Transit Oriented Development (TOD) department seeks a cooperative student for a 6‑month, 40‑hour workweek. The role supports construction submittals review, meetings, and safety practices across MBTA projects on or near MBTA property.

The ideal candidate is enrolled in a graduate program (architecture, engineering, or construction management) with strong communication, submittal review, and safety/logistics understanding. 2 days in-office, 3 remote.

Qualifications

• Graduate student in architecture, engineering, construction management, or similar field.
• Strong reading of construction drawings, standards, and specs.
• Proficiency with MS Office and Adobe Acrobat.
• Excellent English communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support TOD staff by organizing, collecting, and documenting construction information.
• Review drawings, work plans, submittals with Project Managers and Manager of Construction.
• Monitor construction safety and conformance to MBTA standards and directives.
• Occasional site visits to ensure policy compliance and quality control.
• Assist in organizing, analyzing, and tracking TOD program data and quarterly reporting.
• Participate in team meetings and other duties as needed.
