Job summary

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) is seeking a cooperative education student in the Transit Oriented Development (TOD) department. The role supports construction oversight, safety, and documentation while gaining experience in reviewing submittals and coordinating with project teams.

The ideal candidate is enrolled in a graduate program (architecture, engineering, construction management) with strong communication, safety, and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a graduate program in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a similar area.
• Relevant academic or job experience in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a similar area.
• Above average skills in professional communication, reviewing construction submittals, and strong understanding of construction safety, logistics, and management.

Responsibilities

• Organize, collect, and document construction information for TOD staff.
• Review drawings, work plans, submittals, and other construction documents with Project Managers and Manager of Construction.
• Monitor construction safety, ensure delivery of new assets, and conformance with MBTA standards and directives.
• Perform occasional site visits to verify compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
• Analyze and track TOD program data; assist in quarterly reporting.
