Job summary

MBTA seeks two Transportation Construction Inspector Interns/Co‑Ops to support inspection of contractor work and ensure compliance with plans and specifications in Boston area projects. Work is full-time, onsite for January through June, reporting to the Manager of Field Staff and assisting the Construction Inspector and Resident Engineer.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in an undergraduate program, have completed 27 credits, and are proficient in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in undergrad degree program for entire internship duration.
• Completed at least 27 semester credits and pursuing related field.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and data management is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review construction work for conformance to plans and specs.
• Compute quantities and assist in reporting payments.
• Assist in inspections and safety-related field tasks.
• Maintain project diary, test reports, and documentation.
• Support Resident Engineer and inspectors across locations as needed.
