MBTA seeks a Civil Engineer to develop engineering designs, specifications and standards for facilities and systems within the Bridges & Structures Maintenance division. Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in civil, structural, mechanical or architectural engineering from an accredited institution.
• Four (4) years of engineering or related experience.
• Effective organizational, analytical, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Office applications, and Database applications.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and present effectively to a diverse group of stakeholders and customers.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license without major infractions in accordance with MBTA policy.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise and work effectively with a diverse workforce.

Responsabilités

• Develop preliminary engineering designs, specifications, and standards for modifications to the various facilities and systems of the Authority.
• Participate in the development, implementation, and monitoring of comprehensive plans for improvements and make recommendations for improvements.
• Coordinate the planning, scheduling, and implementation of all testing performed for the purpose of improving the reliability of facilities and system components.
• Monitor the reliability of major systems and selected components.
• Conduct site inspections of systems and materials to verify quality and prepare required reports.
• Respond to each inquiry, whether from a customer, vendor, or co-worker, in a courteous and professional manner consistent with the Authority's driven by customer service quality standard.
• Work any and all shifts and/or locations as assigned or directed.
• Respond, directly or through others, and/or report to work for emergencies, extreme weather conditions, or any other abnormal conditions that impair service or the safety of service, twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week.
• Collaborate with other departments and team members to produce and review projects.
• Establish and maintain sound union/management relations while upholding the rights and interests of management and adhering to collective bargaining agreements.
• Respond to each inquiry, whether from a customer, vendor, or co-worker, in a courteous and professional manner.
• Drive a company or personal vehicle to visit work sites and to assist at emergencies, service disruptions, and/or other events as needed.
• Uphold the rights and interests of the Authority while building and maintaining an effective relationship with employees.
• Perform all other duties and projects that may be assigned.
