Job summary

Bi-State Development seeks a Senior Project Manager, Engineering to oversee transit-related capital projects involving facilities, systems, and infrastructure. You will manage project execution, field coordination, compliance, and staff oversight to ensure timely completion of project segments.

This role requires the ability to read drawings and specifications, coordinate with consultants and contractors, and ensure QA/QC across field work.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret project drawings, specs, geotechnical reports, and contract docs.
• Strong communication skills, written and oral, with stakeholders and BSD leadership.
• Extensive knowledge of construction materials, practices, and management principles.
• Experience coordinating with consultants, contractors, utilities, and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Meet with BSD leadership to advise on work activities and resolve delays.
• Coordinate project plans, schedules, and field activities; report delays promptly.
• Prepare progress reports and staffing plans for field status and issues.
• Review construction plans for adequacy and ensure adherence to standards.
• Conduct field inspections to verify QA/QC and compliance with specs.
• Monitor contract progress, sub-contractors, and interdependent activities.
• Coordinate with utilities for relocations, estimates, and payments.
• Serve as primary liaison between contractors and designers; document responses.
• Manage schedules, budgets, and risk for assigned capital projects.
• Develop contingency plans for unexpected changes or emergencies.
