Job summary

Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) is seeking a Civil Engineer to develop engineering plans, designs, specifications, and standards for diverse projects within the assigned division. You will conduct studies, surveys, and cost estimates while overseeing projects and ensuring integration of operational needs into design.

The role demands hands-on project management, design review, field oversight, and effective coordination with internal departments to advance facility standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil, structural, mechanical or architectural engineering from an accredited institution.
• Four (4) years of engineering or related experience.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and present effectively to a diverse group of stakeholders and customers.
• Valid driver's license without major infractions in accordance with MBTA policy.

Responsibilities

• Develop preliminary engineering designs, specifications, and standards for modifications to MBTA facilities and systems.
• Plan, schedule, and implement testing to improve reliability of facilities and system components.
• Monitor reliability of major systems and components; conduct site inspections and prepare reports.
• Coordinate with departments to integrate operations into design and respond to inquiries in a courteous, professional manner.
