Job summary

The Illinois Department of Transportation's Office of Intermodal Project Implementation is seeking a Section Chief Transit Capital-Southern for a Technical Manager V role. The position oversees state-funded public transportation capital improvement programs in southern Illinois regions and acts as liaison between OIPI and transit providers on grant matters.

Responsibilities include reviewing grant applications, conducting project inspections, and managing staff to ensure compliance with policies

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree as listed and 3 years of transit project management or grant management experience.
• Eleven years of experience with transit project and program management, transit grant management, procurement, or related functions.
• Two years of supervisory experience managing direct reports covered by collective bargaining agreements (preferred).
• Experience with state and federal transit grant programs.
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
