Job summary

Illinois Department of Transportation is seeking a Technical Manager V to oversee state-funded public transportation capital programs in southern Illinois. The role involves grant coordination, review of applications, and ensuring compliance with federal and state policies.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a related field and several years of transit project/ grant management experience, with supervisory responsibilities preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business administration, business management, finance, project management or public administration.
• Three years of transit project and program management, grant management, procurement, or related experience required OR eleven years of experience in those areas.
• Two years of supervisory experience with unionized staff is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between OIPI and transit providers on grant matters.
• Review and approve grant applications per federal and department policies.
• Identify programs and capital transit projects for inclusion in the annual transit program.
• Evaluate and approve public transit capital grant funding and payments.
• Ensure onsite inspection of project facilities and compliance with safety rules.
