Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced CADD/BIM professional to lead intelligent modeling efforts for transit and multimodal projects. The role coordinates across architecture, vertical structures, transportation structures, roadway design, and MEP to produce federated, clash-checked deliverables.

Responsibilities include clash detection with Navisworks, enforcing BIM standards, mentoring staff, and interfacing with clients and subconsultants. Travel to various US offices may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with vocational training in basic CADD drafting and intelligent modeling.
• 12 years of related experience preferred.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required; travel flexibility a plus.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Cross-discipline coordination across architecture, structures, transportation, roadway, and MEP into a single federated model.
• Model coordination and clash detection using Navisworks; resolve issues early in design.
• Establish and enforce CADD/BIM standards, templates, and workflows.
• Mentor and guide production staff across offices to build institutional capability.
• Coordinate with clients, agencies, and subconsultants on model deliverables and data handoff requirements.
• Perform model health checks and ensure interoperability across Autodesk/Bentley tools.
• Provide design sketches and support field assignments as required.
