Job summary

WMATA invites college interns to join the Audit & Compliance Department for hands-on experience in internal auditing, risk management, and compliance within a major public transit system.

Interns assist with audits, process documentation, data analysis, flowchart development, and presentations while collaborating with experienced auditors and leadership, gaining exposure to GRC technology, Microsoft 365, Power BI, and AI tools.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent and attending an accredited college/university.
• Intern's major must align with the position and requirements.
• Must have completed freshman year and be entering sophomore year.
• Intern must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8.
• Consecutive summer opportunities possible based on prior performance.

Responsibilities

• Compile, review and analyze data to produce reports.
• Research data for management, operations, and administrative reports.
• Create presentations, reports, and data visuals for assigned departments.
• Review reports to identify problems and propose solutions.
• Participate in training and attend department meetings to gain exposure.
• Lead or participate in departmental meetings and working sessions.
