Job summary

Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority offers an introductory summer internship with the Business Efficiency & Compliance Monitoring team. The program provides hands-on transit industry experience and supports departmental projects, coordination, and documentation.

Interns rotate across departments based on their college major, with supervision by an Executive or designee. Assignments are up to thirteen weeks, designed for practical learning and professional growth in a dynamic agency

Qualifications

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be enrolled in an accredited college or university.
Intern must have completed freshman year and be entering sophomore year.
Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8.
Preferred background aligned with the intern role in business efficiency, compliance, or related fields.

Responsibilities

Compile, review and analyze data; input and verify data for reports.
Research data for management and operations reports; prepare summaries and data-driven documents.
Produce work products such as presentations, reports, and data graphics for the assigned department.
Review reports to identify problems and suggest solutions under supervision.
Attend training sessions and departmental meetings to gain exposure to transit functions.
Participate in and/or lead departmental meetings and working sessions.
