Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) offers a college internship in the Audit & Compliance Department to gain hands-on experience in internal auditing, risk management, and compliance within a major public transportation system. Interns assist with audits, data analysis, process documentation, and report preparation, rotating across departments as needed under supervision by senior staff.

The program lasts up to thirteen weeks in the summer and provides exposure to GRC

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree aligned with the internship.
• Must have completed freshman year and be entering sophomore year.
• Minimum cumulative GPA may be required by some departments.

Responsabilités

• Assist with data collection, processing, and verification for audit activities.
• Develop process documentation, risk assessments, and flowcharts.
• Prepare presentations and reports for department leadership.
• Support compliance reviews and ERM initiatives through data analytics and AI-enabled workflows.
