Job summary

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) offers a college/graduate internship in the Audit & Compliance Department to gain hands-on experience in internal auditing, risk management, compliance, and emerging technologies within a major public transit system.

Interns assist with audits, process documentation, risk assessments, data analysis, and presentation preparation while rotating through departments under supervision of experienced staff.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent; must be attending an accredited college/university.
• Intern's major must align with the academic and functional requirements of the position.
• Must have completed freshman year and be entering sophomore year of college.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8.
• Internship opportunities may include consecutive summers based on performance.

Responsibilities

• Compiles, reviews and analyzes data for reports.
• Researches data for management, operations, technical and administrative reports.
• Produces work products: presentations, reports, graphics and project plans.
• Reviews reports to identify problems and suggests solutions.
• Participates in training and attends meetings to gain exposure to transit functions.
• Leads departmental meetings when assigned.
