Job summary

St. John’s Community Health in Los Angeles seeks an Outreach Coordinator to advance HIV prevention services for transgender individuals in South L.A. The role focuses on outreach, promotion of program deliverables, and community engagement with transgender service providers.

You will build relationships, coordinate activities, collect data, and support program evaluation, working with a multidisciplinary team in a grant-funded environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience working with transgender individuals in a social service or health setting.
• High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team and strong communication skills.
• Transgender-affirming, with knowledge of the population of focus.
• Proactive outreach, program coordination, and time-management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Initiate outreach to target population via telephone, mail, community visits, and events.
• Maintain knowledge of HIV, PrEP, and PEP; stay updated on protocols.
• Develop and sustain relationships with clients and partner organizations.
• Educate through street outreach, health fairs, and community events; participate in trainings.
• Coordinate meetings, prepare packets, minutes, and calendars; assist with reports.
