Job summary

Children’s National Hospital is seeking an experienced Medical Technologist for the Blood Bank and Donor Center. You will perform transfusion medicine testing, resolve complex technical issues, and assist the Manager with daily operations in Transfusion Medicine.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, MT(ASCP) eligibility, 3 years of related experience, and 1 year of supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Medical Technology or related field of science (Required).
• 3 years related and progressive experience (Required).
• 1-year supervisory experience (Required).
• MT Registry or MT(ASCP) eligibility (Required).
• SBB certification (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform Blood Bank and Donor Center procedures per SOPs.
• Investigate and resolve complex technical problems.
• Assist Manager with technical direction and day-to-day operations of Transfusion Medicine.
• Serve as a technical resource for staff and physicians.

Skills

Supervisory experience

MT Registry or MT(ASCP) eligible

SBB certification (Preferred)
