Job summary

Children's National Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist to join the Blood Bank team. You will perform a range of clinical laboratory procedures including blood bank testing, chemistry, hematology, and related disciplines, ensuring accurate results and proper documentation.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Medical Technology, 1 year of lab experience, and MT(ASCP) eligibility. Strong QC, safety awareness, and teamwork are essential in this fast-paced pediatric setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or equivalent related field of science (Required).
• 1 year of experience in an accredited clinical laboratory (Required).
• Mathematics ability; statistics preferred.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills; LIS knowledge desirable.
• Registry or eligible as MT(ASCP) (Required).

Responsibilities

• Perform Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology, Microbiology, Virology, and/or Genetics procedures following SOPs.
• Record and report results; operate and maintain equipment; monitor QC standards.
• Troubleshoot equipment to resolve basic malfunctions; assist with instrument maintenance.
• Ensure proper documentation and safe handling of specimens; follow safety guidelines.
