Qualifications

• MLT certification within 1 year (ASCP BOC or AMT).

Responsibilities

• Performs, evaluates, and monitors laboratory tests within protocols.
• Evaluates results for clinical significance and reports findings.
• Performs calibration, maintenance, and quality control of instruments.
• Recognizes instrument issues and notifies supervisor as needed.
• Collects specimens with proper labeling for testing.
• Provides technical assistance to phlebotomists and staff.
• Holds proficiency testing for quality compliance in acute settings.
• Supports transfusion services and critical care testing during high acuity events.
• Demonstrates age-appropriate care knowledge for patients.
