Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a Medical Laboratory Technologist to perform, evaluate, and monitor laboratory tests according to established protocols. You will ensure accurate reporting, calibration, and maintenance of instruments and supervise staff as needed.

You will collect specimens from patients across age groups, participate in quality control, and support transfusion services, microbiology, chemistry, hematology, histology, coagulation, and flow cytometry. Certification within 1 year is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences required.
• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field required.
• MT certification: ASCP (BOC) or AMT within 1 year or MLS certification within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Perform, evaluate and monitor laboratory tests within established protocols.
• Evaluate results for clinical significance and report results.
• Calibrate, maintain and repair instruments; detect and correct malfunctions.
