Advocate Health seeks a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform laboratory testing of biological specimens in an acute setting across multiple specialty areas, using manual or automated techniques. The role requires independent judgment to report timely and accurate results.

The incumbent will collect specimens from newborns to adults, assist Phlebotomists, and ensure compliance with accrediting standards such as CAP.

Qualificações

• Associate's Degree in Clinical Lab Technician or related field.
• MLT certification (ASCP BOC or AMT) to be obtained within 1 year.

Responsabilidades

• Perform, evaluate, and monitor laboratory tests per established protocols.
• Evaluate results for clinical significance and report appropriately.
• Maintain and calibrate instruments; perform quality control and corrective actions.
• Recognize instrument/method issues and escalate when needed.
• Collect specimens from newborns to adults per protocol.
• Provide technical assistance to Phlebotomists and staff.
• Ensure compliance with accrediting standards (CAP) in an acute setting.
• Support testing across transfusion services, microbiology, chemistry, hematology, histology, coagulation, and flow cytometry.
• Provide timely results for critical care departments during high acuity events.
• Demonstrate age-appropriate care and adaptability to patient needs.
