Job summary

Sunbelt Solomon seeks an experienced Welder to join our production team. You will fabricate and weld transformer components, read engineering drawings, and ensure high quality builds using MIG, TIG, or Stick welding. The role includes pre/post-weld inspections, equipment maintenance, and mentorship of junior welders.

Hours are Monday-Thursday 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Candidates should have 2+ years of welding experience, and be skilled in oil-filled tank welding, plasma cutting, and air arc gouging.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; welding trade school or technical training preferred.
• 2 years of welding experience required.
• Air arc gouging, plasma cutting, and stud gun experience required.
• Experience welding oil or liquid filled tanks.

Responsibilities

• Weld and assemble transformer components including tanks, radiator fins, brackets, lifting lugs, and other structural parts.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding specifications.
• Ensure proper fit-up and alignment using jigs, clamps, and measuring tools.
• Perform grinding, cutting, and surface preparation; conduct pre- and post-weld inspections.
• Repair cracks or damage on transformer tanks or components; operate shop equipment safely.
• Mentor novice welders and support continuous improvement in welding processes.
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, orderly workstation.
