Job summary

ERMCO, based in Dyersburg, TN, seeks a Mechanical Designer to assist in designing transformers and related components. The role requires an intermediate designer able to work with cross‑functional teams and ensure compliance with IEEE, UL, IEC, CSA standards.

Onsite work in Dyersburg with relocation assistance. You will develop enclosures, assemblies, and related components, contribute to failure analysis, and prepare engineering documentation under supervision.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or technical certification required.
• 2-3 years of drafting or mechanical design experience, preferably transformer's related.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks (coursework/internship acceptable).
• Familiarity with IEEE, UL, IEC, CSA and DOE standards for transformers or components.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with ability to collaborate cross‑functionally.
• Organized and able to manage tasks and meet deadlines.
• Hands-on transformer experience or product knowledge may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop transformer enclosures, assemblies, and components under senior guidance.
• Assist in data collection and failure analysis under supervision.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, QA, supply chain, sales, and service to integrate designs into production.
• Prepare basic engineering documentation and test results under supervision.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical data support.
• Stay informed on industry trends and regulatory requirements for compliant designs.
• Support continuous improvement efforts in process and product design.
