Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a technical field or related technical certification.
• 2-3 years of drafting or mechanical design experience, focusing on transformer or related products.
• Proficiency with design/analysis tools such as AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements for transformers (IEEE, UL, IEC, CSA)
• Strong desire to learn and develop technical skills in transformer design.
• Effective communication and teamwork with cross-functional teams.
• Organized and able to manage tasks and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop transformer-related enclosures, assemblies, and components under guidance, ensuring industry compliance.
• Contribute to failure analysis by data collection and identifying potential causes under supervision.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, QA, supply chain, sales, and customer service to integrate designs into production.
• Prepare and maintain basic engineering documentation, including notes, reports, and test results, under supervision.
• Participate in design reviews and provide data and technical support.
• Stay informed on industry trends and regulatory requirements to support compliant designs.
• Support continuous improvement by participating in process and product enhancements as directed.

Job SummaryThe Mechanical Designer role is responsible for assisting in the design and development of transformers and related components. As an intermediate designer, the Mechanical Designer is capable of independent work, has developed basic technical skills, and is experienced in engineering practices. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams and supports the execution of design tasks while ensuring compliance with industry standards.

This role will be onsite in Dyersburg, TN. Relocation Assistance is available.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop transformer related enclosures, assemblies, and related components under the guidance of more experienced engineers, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., IEEE, UL, IEC, CSA).
• Contribute to failure analysis efforts by collecting data and assisting in identifying potential causes under supervision.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, supply chain, sales, and customer service to ensure successful integration of designs into production.

• Participate in design reviews and contribute to discussions by providing data and technical support.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in technical field or related technical certification
• 2-3 years of experience in drafting or mechanical design, with a focus on transformer or related product design
• Proficiency with basic design and analysis tools, such as AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks (coursework or internship experience acceptable).
• Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., IEEE, UL, IEC, CSA) and regulatory requirements (e.g. DOE) for transformers or components.
• Strong desire to learn and develop technical skills in transformer or related product design.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Organized, with the ability to manage assigned tasks and meet deadlines.
