Job summary

The City of Maricopa seeks a Training and Development Specialist to coordinate and deliver employee learning initiatives aligned with city goals. You will assess needs, develop materials, facilitate sessions in person, virtually, or hybrid, and evaluate program effectiveness.

You will support onboarding, compliance training, and leadership development, collaborating with HR Business Partners to drive ongoing employee growth and organizational learning.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Two years of experience in training, learning and development, organizational development, or related field.
• Knowledge of training principles and employee development practices.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook and Excel).
• Experience with HRIS systems (e.g. Tyler MUNIS) and AI-enabled tools.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver employee training and development programs.
• Support onboarding, compliance training, and leadership development initiatives.
• Develop instructional materials, manuals, guides, and e-learning content.
• Evaluate training effectiveness through surveys and performance metrics.
• Maintain training records and manage LMS data.
• Collaborate with departments to keep content current and relevant.
