Job summary

Paul Robeson Charter School in Trenton seeks a passionate Middle School Special Education Teacher for the 2026-27 school year. Each core subject teacher handles a single content area, a grade level, and up to 75 students, with collaboration time and regular coaching from a leadership team.

Responsibilities include planning rigorous instruction, differentiating support, engaging families, and providing after-school academic help.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
• Must hold or be actively working to obtain NJ teacher certification within the first year of employment and completed by the second year.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide excellent instruction aligned to state standards.
• Develop detailed lesson plans, materials and assessments tied to school goals.
• Provide differentiated learning opportunities to support each student’s growth.
• Set and reinforce clear expectations for student engagement.
• Collaborate with other teachers to boost student achievement.
• Engage with families through regular communications and meetings.
• Provide after-school academic support for at least one hour per week.
• Be willing to perform other duties as assigned.
