Job summary

Interstate Waste Services, Inc. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to load, push, and transfer solid waste at our transfer station.

The ideal candidate will operate excavators and bucket loaders, inspect equipment, and maintain an efficient flow of materials with a strong safety mindset. Applicants should have at least 2 years of equipment operating experience, English fluency, and be eligible to work in the United States; Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as Equipment Operator.
• Experience in the sanitation industry preferred.
• Fluency in English required; Spanish bilingual is a plus.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy duty equipment such as excavators and bucket loaders (yellow iron equipment).
• Routinely set up and inspect equipment prior to operation.
• Move materials to ensure efficient transfer station flow and comply with safety specifications.
• Repair machinery and replace parts as needed.
