Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is hiring a Class A CDL Shuttle/Transfer Driver in Rock Tavern, NY. Local route, home daily, Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm with 40 hours weekly and no weekend work. Pay is $22 per hour with a sign-on bonus and referral bonuses. Training is provided, and uniform/boot allowances are offered. 401(k) with company match after one year.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Class A CDL and endorsements for the position.

• Ability to pass Ryder drug test, background check, and DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a commercial vehicle and comply with safety and DOT regulations.
• Transfer rental equipment between Ryder facilities and handle parts pickup as needed.

• Driver Positions Pay Weekly
• Hourly Pay: $22 Per Hour
• Sign On Bonus: Pays you $250 at 30 days and $250 at 90 days
• Referral Bonus: Pays you $250 at 6 months and $250 at 12 months
• Home Time: Local - Home Daily
• Mon-Fri NO WEEKENDS
• Hours: 1st shift, 8am-5pm 40hrs per week

All Drivers have 24/7 Roadside Maintenance by a Ryder Trained Technician plus Service Employees fuel up our trucks at all 800+ Maintenance Facilities

• Route: Shuttle Equipment between Ryder Customer Facilities
• Freight: No Touch - Empty Trailers for Equipment Shuttle Transfer Movement
• Transferring rental equip/ delivering trucks to customers, parts (straight trucks, vans, day cabs, sleepers, cabovers, etc.. based on what needs to be transferred)

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures

Important Note: Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

Responsibilities

• This position is primarily responsible for safely driving a commercial vehicle and requires compliance with safety & DOT Regulations, continuous training and customer service

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
