Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Cheektowaga, NY is seeking a Class A CDL Shuttle/Transfer Driver to join our local fleet. The role offers home daily, weekday schedule, and a competitive hourly wage.

Responsibilities include transporting equipment between Ryder customer facilities with no-touch freight, maintaining logs, and complying with DOT regulations. Paid training and sign-on bonus provided. Benefits include uniforms/boot allowance, PTO from day one, medical/dental/vision, 401k with company match

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older.
• Possess a valid Class A CDL and endorsements.
• Pass Ryder Drug Test and background checks, including motor vehicle records.
• Complete DOT physical and Ryder road test successfully.

Responsibilities

• Drive a Class A commercial vehicle and comply with DOT regulations and safety guidelines.
• Transport equipment between Ryder customer facilities with no-touch freight when possible.
• Maintain accurate logs, records, and required paperwork; follow instructions.

• Mon-Fri NO WEEKENDS
• Local and Regional work about an hour away
• Home Daily

• Sign On Bonus: Pays $250 at 30 and 90 days, 6 months, and 1 year

Position Description

Immediately Hiring and Seating a Class A CDL Shuttle Driver and we want the right Transfer Driver to join us at Ryder in Cheektowaga, NY

• Driver Positions Pay Weekly
• Hourly Pay: $21 Per Hour
• Mon-Fri NO WEEKENDS
• Hours: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
• Local and Regional work about an hour away
• Home Daily
• Paid Training
• Sign On Bonus: Pays $250 at 30 and 90 days, 6 months, and 1 year

All Drivers have 24/7 Roadside Maintenance by a Ryder Trained Technician plus Service Employees fuel up our trucks at all 800+ Maintenance Facilities

• Route: Shuttle Equipment between Ryder Customer Facilities
• Freight:No Touch - Empty Trailers for Equipment Shuttle Transfer Movement
• Transferring rental equip/ delivering trucks to customers, parts (straight trucks, vans, day cabs, sleepers, cabovers, etc.. based on what needs to be transferred)

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

Responsibilities

• This position is primarily responsible for safely driving a commercial vehicle and requires compliance with safety & DOT Regulations, continuous training and customer service

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
