Job summary

Durham Technical Community College is seeking a Transcript Evaluator Specialist to coordinate a comprehensive system for evaluating transcripts for transfer credits. You will examine external transcripts to determine eligibility for transferable credit and ensure accurate recording in the student information system.

The role requires an associate degree with experience in transcript evaluation and customer service; a bachelor’s degree is preferred with related experience.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in office administration, office systems, records management, information systems, or related field with at least three years work experience in transcript evaluation, electronic records management, and customer service.
• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in office administration, office systems, records management, information systems, or related field with at least Two years' experience in transcript evaluation, electronic records management, and customer service

Responsibilities

• Serve as a college expert on information regarding the transferability of external courses and their equivalents at Durham Technical Community College.
• Evaluate incoming external transcripts to determine and officially record equivalent transfer credit in accordance with Durham Tech's policies.
• Determine if external transcripts originate from accredited high schools, colleges, and universities, domestic or international.
• Ensure transfer credit is accurately recorded in the student information system (Colleague).
• Ensure proper security for student records in accordance with FERPA and state regulations.
• Utilize, redesign, and implement processes to scan, document image, and automate transcript evaluation tasks in Colleague.
• Maintain knowledge with external liaisons and internal program directors to provide accurate external transcript assessment.
• Participate in ongoing professional development for transcript evaluation functions in Colleague and other concerns.
• Create and manage databases, spreadsheets, queries, and electronic communications to support transcript evaluation processes.
• Provide reception coverage in Admissions, Registration, and Records when appropriate.
• Assist with registration and graduation activities.
