Job summary

Luther College is seeking a Transfer Credit Coordinator to facilitate and adjudicate transfer credits from various sources. You will evaluate, process, and post credits, maintaining course equivalencies and supporting students, advisors, and faculty in understanding transfer policies.

You’ll collaborate with the Registrar, Academic Affairs, Admissions, and departments, ensuring accurate transfer credit decisions and timely communications. Proficiency with SIS and transfer software is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 2+ years in higher education preferred.
• Knowledge of FERPA and records compliance.
• Ability to work with diverse populations.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a team and handle interruptions while meeting deadlines.
• Ability to work independently.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and software apps including CRMs and databases.
• Project management certification/experience preferred.
• Knowledge of student information systems preferred.
• Familiarity with international educational systems and transcripts preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess transcripts, course descriptions, and syllabi to determine transfer credits.
• Maintain transfer course equivalency database and update SIS (Transferology, Colleague).
• Use transcript reading software to ensure consistency and accuracy in transfer crediting.
• Research and review programs for course equivalencies and advise Registrar.
• Develop and maintain transfer pathways and articulation agreements with colleges.
• Provide information on articulation resources and respond to inquiries from advisors and students.
• Coordinate with Admissions and Academic Affairs to respond to transfer credit questions.
