Job summary

Ochsner Health seeks an experienced nurse leader to oversee daily patient flow, bed placement, admissions, and transfers within the hospital. You will coordinate with EVS and transport to optimize patient movement and care delivery.

Required is an RN license with an associate degree; a bachelor's degree and supervisory or call center experience are preferred. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to meet staffing and operational goals and participate in telemedicine and hospital outreach

Qualifications

• RN licensure in state of practice is required.
• Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience.
• Supervisory experience or transfer/call center experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association is required; ACLS and PALS are preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams throughout the patient care process.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical oversight and critical thinking for daily patient flow and bed placement decisions.
• Support administration, management, and nursing staff in achieving patient-centered care and organizational goals.
• Foster professional relationships among leadership, medical staff, and interdisciplinary teams for patient room assignments based on diagnosis, acuity, and flow.
• Assess staffing needs with nursing units and coordinate capacity surge and escalation plans.
• Collect, monitor, and evaluate data accurately.
• Perform rounds and supervise day-to-day operations of nursing units.
• Engage in telemedicine, business development, and hospital outreach activities as needed.
