Job summary

Shady Grove Medical Center in Rockville, MD seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for our Transfer Center to support our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

As an RN, you will educate patients and families, mentor staff, manage transfers, and ensure adherence to standards while practicing evidence-based care. This part-time, day-shift role offers 12 hours per week with a pay range of $37.00–$55.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level nursing education completed
• Maryland RN license active
• ACLS/PALS/NRP required by specialty area as applicable

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and family through the continuum of care.
• Serve as role model to Level I nurses and support best practices.
• Demonstrate professionalism and adhere to ANA standards.
• Use equipment correctly and maximize efficiency.
• Develop a plan of care per patient population.
• Identify changes in patient condition and initiate corrective action.
• Mentor students and team members in patient-centered care.
• Conduct purposeful rounding from patient and family perspective.
• Conduct literature searches and apply findings to practice.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in clinical care and participate in change of practice.
• Facilitate interfacility patient transfers and enter orders; understand transfer maps and EMTLA requirements.
