Job summary

Cal State East Bay seeks an Admissions Counselor to process transfer applications, evaluate academic documents, and advise students on admissions requirements. The role supports domestic applicants and collaborates with campus partners to recruit and transition admitted students.

Under supervision of senior staff, you will assess eligibility, interpret policies, and participate in campus events such as Preview Day and Orientation.

Qualifications

• The equivalent of two (2) years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field.
• A Master’s degree may be substituted for one year of professional experience.
• Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration or a job-related field.
• Additional specialized experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Process Transfer Student Applications and determine eligibility.
• Evaluate applications and final admissions decisions, including GPA and GE course review.
• Advise prospective applicants on processing, eligibility, and admissions requirements.
• Participate in campus events and assist in recruitment and transition of admitted students.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences, public or business administration or related field

Master’s degree may substitute for one year of experience
