Job summary

Samsung Electronics America seeks a Legal Counsel: Transactional to join the Legal Transactions Group in Austin, TX. Ideal candidate holds a JD, 5+ years of relevant experience, and Texas license or eligibility for in-house practice in Texas; on-site employment in Austin.

Qualifications

• JD degree required.
• At least 5 years of relevant legal experience.
• Must be licensed to practice law in Texas, or eligible for in-house practice in Texas.
• Ability to manage multiple complex priorities with attention to detail and good judgment.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts (including AIA contracts), engineering contracts, procurement contracts, and related operational documents.
• Directly advise management and internal clients on legal risks throughout the engineering, procurement, and construction phases.
• Provide internal client education on construction law updates and regulatory changes affecting facility design and operations.
• Continuously improve legal operations, workflows, software systems, policies, and guidebooks.
• Establish cross-functional relationships and manage routine legal processes such as task tracking, reporting, and collaboration with paralegal staff.
