Job summary

Canadian Pacific Kansas City is seeking a Trainmaster in Monroe, Louisiana. You will coordinate yard and road plans, oversee train movements, and drive safety, service, and efficiency across the terminal.

This role requires supervision experience, a railway background, and strong communication abilities, with certifications to maintain per CROR/GCOR as applicable. The position is full-time on-site with a broad benefits package, and opportunities to advance within a North American rail network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Railway experience as conductor; locomotive engineer qualification is a plus.
• Valid driver's license.
• 2+ years supervisory experience in logistics or operations is a plus.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays in all weather.
• Excellent communication and radio instruction skills.
• Read and understand safety rules and operating documents in English.
• Proficient with MS Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal and external partners to optimize yard and road fluidity to meet LOSP and OP.
• Oversee train movements within the yard and mainline with safety-focused supervision.
• Accountable for safety, service, productivity, and financial metrics for the terminal.
• Lead safety compliance and provide corrective actions as needed.
• Conduct investigations and recommend corrective actions per policy.
• Support safe operation through tests, training rides, and incident response as required.
• Manage inventory for terminals and lines of road.
• Coach and mentor Train & Engine employees.
• Occasionally operate trains while maintaining necessary certifications.
