Qualifications

Quality Staffing, Inc., also doing business as Goddard Mason Executive Search, a leading full-service employment agency matching qualified talent with some of the area's top companies, is looking for an experienced Training Officer 1 to work through our agency as a contract employee with the Tennessee Department of Children's Services (TN DCS) located in Jackson , TN. This is a hybrid position working from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday and the pay rate for this position is $21.00 per hour.

Training Officer Job Summary:

The Tennessee Department of Children's Services (DCS) is seeking qualified and passionate individuals for the role of Training and Coaching Officer. This position is responsible for delivering comprehensive Pre-Service and Specialty training to newly hired DCS staff as well as serving as an information liaison for new hires during onboarding and throughout Pre-Service . The ideal candidate will have direct child welfare experience and a strong background in training delivery with a commitment to trauma-informed care and the DCS Practice Model. Travel will be required for in-person training and coaching sessions as well as field observations within the regional area. this role will consist of a hybrid work environment with both remote and on-site responsibilities so candidate s must be local to the Jackson area.

• Deliver Pre-Service Training to new DCS employees covering:
• Fundamentals of Child Welfare
• Program-specific content based on assigned service areas (e.g., CPS, Foster Care, Juvenile Justice)
• Trauma-informed case management practices
• The DCS Practice Model and Practice Wheel (Engagement, Teaming, Assessment, Planning, Implementation, Tracking, and Adjusting)
• Self-care strategies and motivational interviewing techniques / provide Coaching and Feedback to new hires based on field observation and identified practice gaps.
• Proctor Pre-Service Assessments and supporting evaluation processes
• Participat e in Case Panel Presentations
• Participat e in Simulation Lab activities (depending on location)
• Provid e web-based technical assistance and support for virtual training delivery
• Utiliz e Microsoft Teams and other digital platforms to conduct and support training sessions
• Collabor ate with training team members and program leadership to ensure consistency and quality in training content and delivery
• Travel - some travel will be required, under 75 miles each way; no overnight travel required and mileage reimbursement will be available.

Education and Minimum Qualifications for Training Officer position:

• Bachelor's Degree
• One (1) year of direct child welfare field experience (e.g., case management, investigations, foster care, juvenile justice)
• One (1) year of experience in training delivery, adult education, or staff development
• Proficiency in Microsoft Teams and other virtual training tools
• Strong communication, facilitation, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, evolving training environment
• Experience delivering training in a government or human services setting
• Certification or coursework in trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, or adult learning principles
