Job summary

Quality Staffing, Inc., also doing business as Goddard Mason Executive Search, supports the Tennessee Department of Children's Services (DCS) in Jackson, TN to hire an experienced Training Officer 1 as a contract employee.

The role delivers Pre-Service and specialty training to new DCS staff, requiring trauma-informed care knowledge, travel for in-person sessions, and a hybrid work setup with remote and on-site responsibilities. Local candidates are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• One year of direct child welfare field experience.
• One year of experience in training delivery, adult education, or staff development.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Teams and virtual training tools.
• Strong communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience delivering training in government or human services settings.
• Certification or coursework in trauma-informed care or motivational interviewing.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Pre-Service Training to new DCS employees.
• Cover fundamentals of child welfare and program-specific content.
• Incorporate trauma-informed case management practices and the DCS Practice Model.
• Provide coaching based on field observations and identified gaps.
• Proctor Pre-Service Assessments and evaluation processes.
• Support web-based and virtual training delivery via Teams.
• Travel within the regional area for training and coaching.
