Job description

The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as a Technical Training Instructor performing alltechnical training instructor classroom-related activities, supporting officer curriculum development, modification, and/or revision efforts in initial skills, advanced, and/or supplemental Technical Training course.

Specialized Experience

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, Training Instruction Series, 1712. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems.

• Examples of specialized experience includes Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s).
• Supervising or administering a training program.
• Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results.
• Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis.
• Knowledge of a wide range of instructional concepts, methods, and techniques required to develop and plan a variety of difficult and complex courses associated with teaching advanced technical systems or subject-matter areas.
• Knowledge of the methods, principles, practices, and programs related to curriculum development, instructional techniques, training resources, and test and measurement.
• Knowledge of service-based occupations and the associated training/certification requirements for military and civilian personnel.

Education

OR EDUCATION: Successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.M with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled. Federal Time-In-Grade (TIG) Requirement for General Schedule (GS) Positions

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Knowledge of a wide range of the principles and practical methods, techniques, and tools of instruction to reach a variety of students with a rnage of differences such as diverse ages, backgrounds, and levels of interest.
2. Knowledge of communications, information, and computer science to include awareness of technological changes or new developments, such would be gained through extended experience and on-the-job training combined with practice and study of AirForce Cyberspace Effects and Warfighter Communications at a practical level to include knowledgeto allow the instructor to act inthe role of the subject matter expert during development and revision of course material to includeeffectively participating in paneldiscussions and conducting fact finding/research and compilation of course material.
3. Knowledge of tests and measurement principles, techniques, and objectives.
4. Skill in accomplishing special training studies and projects.
5. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective workingrelationships.
6. Ability to analyze problems and develop appropriate solutions.
