Job summary

CONCERNS OF POLICE SURVIVORS, INC. seeks a Training Assistant to support the Training Specialist and Training Director in coordinating COP S trainings, the National Conference on Law Enforcement Wellness and Trauma, and related events.

The role includes handling registrations, packets, travel logistics, and on-site support. The position requires organizational skills, basic Microsoft Office proficiency, and comfort working with law enforcement and survivors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 1+ year of event planning experience and 2+ years of office experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Google platform and Windows.
• Prefer a basic understanding of police departments and law enforcement.

Responsibilities

• Process registrations for trainings and conferences in the database, ensure accurate records and pull reports.
• Update training/conference packet materials and print.
• Assemble training/conference packets for each location.
• Travel to trainings/conferences and assist with the details as planned.
• Answer phone calls and questions about COPS trainings.
• Organize and put away supplies after each training/conference has concluded.
• Collect, organize and maintain files and documents, both paper and electronic.
• Communicate with law enforcement, presenters, counselors, survivors and volunteers as needed.
• Public speaking at trainings/conferences to help keep the event moving and flowing as planned, if needed.
• Assist with the planning of trainings/conferences as needed.
• Coordinate conference registration and travel for Executive Director and other staff.
• Assist Executive Director with materials for conference presentations.
• Other administrative tasks as assigned by the Executive Director.
• Shall receive a monthly cell phone stipend of $30.00 to offset the cost of using a personal device for work purposes.
