Job summary

TDB Communications in Washington, DC is seeking an experienced Training Manager to lead the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of training for a government client. The role protects on-site leadership and builds a team of training professionals to ensure staff are equipped to deliver high-quality service.

You will collaborate with program leadership and subject-matter experts to create curricula and assessments, monitor effectiveness, and maintain compliance-ready training records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, business, human resources, communications, or a related field.
• Minimum of three years developing and delivering training programs, including at least one year in a supervisory or lead capacity.
• Demonstrated experience designing curricula and training materials for adult learners.
• Strong verbal and written communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common LMS platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver new-hire and ongoing training curricula, materials, job aids, and assessments for program staff.
• Recruit, supervise, coach, and evaluate a team of training specialists/trainers, ensuring consistent, high-quality training delivery.
• Partner with program leadership and subject-matter experts to identify training needs and translate them into effective learning solutions.
• Coordinate with content and knowledge-management staff to ensure training materials reflect current, approved policies, procedures, and guidance.
• Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, quality reviews, and performance data, and recommend and implement improvements.
• Maintain training records, schedules, and documentation to support compliance and client reporting requirements.
• Onboard new employees and coordinate refresher, remedial, or cross-training as needs are identified.
• Stay current on adult-learning best practices, instructional design methods, and training technology and tools.
