Job summary

Amgen in Thousand Oaks, CA is seeking a Training and Development Manager to lead a team of Training Associates and oversee onboarding and ongoing development for US Commercial field staff.

The role requires strong people leadership, cross‑functional collaboration, and the ability to manage training programs across virtual and live settings, including in‑person sessions at Amgen headquarters.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree in a related field.
• “Master’s degree” with 2 years of pharma/training experience.
• Bachelor’s degree with 4 years pharma/training experience.
• Associate’s degree with 8 years pharma/training experience.
• High school diploma with 10 years pharma/training experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Training Associates with clear priorities and performance management.
• Serve as escalation point to resolve operational, process, tech, and stakeholder issues.
• Monitor onboarding communications and manage rosters for new hires and training participants.
• Coordinate and monitor live and virtual onboarding events and training sessions.
• Run reports from LMS, Tableau, and other systems to support training metrics.
